Classroom Options

In fall 2026, Coded by: is offering three different classes of Cb101: Explore - sessions for elementary school, middle school, and high school students. Each class will be tailored for the age group and offer a dynamic introduction to tech and innovation.

Elementary School (5th Grade)

Students will work in teams to identify a real problem and develop their first app idea as a solution. For many students, this is their first experience collaborating on a shared goal and presenting ideas to an audience. Areas of focus include entrepreneurship (problem identification and app concept development), design (identifying their target customer and designing logos and a one-page website using Canva), web development (introduction to HTML), and presentations (students pitch their app idea and designs using a pitch deck).

Middle School (6th - 8th Grade)

Students will work collaboratively to identify a real problem, validate it through research, and develop their first app idea as a solution. Areas of focus include entrepreneurship (problem identification, validation, and solution ideation), research skills (students research their problem to confirm it's real and identify who it affects), design (developing detailed user personas and designing a one-page landing page using Figma, an industry-standard design tool), web development (introduction to HTML and CSS), AI literacy (introduction to using AI tools), and presentations (students pitch their app idea and designs using a pitch deck).

High School (9th - 12th Grade)

Students will dive deeper into problem validation and startup development as they identify a real problem, research it thoroughly, and build out a tech-based solution. Areas of focus include entrepreneurship (in-depth problem identification and solution ideation), research skills (thorough problem validation, competitor analysis, and market research), startup development (students develop a required revenue model for their startup idea), design (developing detailed user personas and designing a one-page landing page using Figma, an industry-standard design tool), web development (HTML and CSS), AI literacy (introduction to using AI tools), and presentations (students pitch their startup concept and designs using a pitch deck).
